Tammi Vacha-Haase, Ph.D. Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs

Dr. Tammi Vacha-Haase joined the Texas A&M University-Commerce family as the new provost and vice president for Academic Affairs in the summer of 2022. Vacha-Haase comes from a background rich in research, teaching and service. She previously served as the graduate dean at Boise State University and associate graduate dean at Colorado State University. She is an advocate and active contributor to student success and retention through entrepreneurship and collaborative leadership. Vacha-Haase's top priorities include cultivating the well-being of faculty and students and fostering an enriched academic campus. She believes in transforming lives and puts this initiative at the forefront of her work each day. Vacha-Haase's clinical and research background is in psychology with an emphasis in gerontology. She has two grown children and lives in Commerce with her husband, David, and German Shepherd, Nahla.
